About Ear Setback Surgery
Transform Your Confidence
Otoplasty, commonly known as ear setback, is a surgery designed to address ears that stick out too far. This procedure can help eliminate embarrassment and self-consciousness, allowing patients to feel fully confident in their appearance.
Why Consider ear setback?
Children and adults alike can face teasing and embarrassment due to protruding ears. Otoplasty offers a solution that can dramatically improve self-esteem and confidence by bringing the ears closer to their anatomical position.
The Benefits:
Enhanced Appearance: Achieves a more balanced and natural look by repositioning the ears.
Boosted Confidence: Reduces self-consciousness and allows patients to feel more comfortable in social situations.
Permanent Results: Provides a long-term solution to ears that stick out too far.
What to Expect
Consultation: We will discuss your goals and evaluate the best approach for your otoplasty.
Procedure: The surgery is performed through a small incision hidden on the back of the ear. Permanent sutures are used to reposition and reinforce the ear cartilage, pulling the ear closer to its anatomical position.
Recovery: For 3 weeks after surgery, a headband is worn during the daytime and nighttime to protect the ears and maintain their new position. For an additional 5 weeks, the headband is worn at night to protect the ears while you are sleeping.

The most significant risk is the potential need for a revision in the future. Although the sutures used are permanent, they may fail over time due to various reasons, including trauma to the ear. In such cases, a revision may be necessary to replace the sutures.
