About Lip Lift Surgery
Reveal Your Radiant Smile
With aging, the upper lip can become elongated. While fillers can add volume and neurotoxins can create a temporary lip flip, these nonsurgical treatments do not address the elongated cutaneous upper lip (the skin-colored area between the nose and the red lip). A lip lift is a surgical procedure that uses an incision hidden in the base of the nose to remove excess skin, shortening the upper lip and enhancing its natural shape.
Why Consider a lip lift?
For certain patients, nonsurgical treatments including fillers and neurotoxins cannot adequately rejuvenate the upper lip. This surgical solution can have a big impact on overall facial harmony in the right patient.
The Benefits:
Youthful Appearance: Creates a more youthful look of the lips, both when the face is at rest and smiling.
Enhanced Features: Highlights other beautiful features including your teeth, lips, and smile.
Permanent Solution: Offers a long-lasting enhancement compared to fillers and neurotoxin treatments.
What to Expect
Consultation: We will discuss your goals and anatomy to determine if this is the best treatment for you.
Procedure: The surgery is performed via an incision that follows the inferior border of the nose, excising skin to shorten the upper lip. The incision hides very well underneath the nose.
Recovery: Recovery is minimal with mild swelling and bruising under the nose for 1 to 2 weeks. Sutures are removed one week post-surgery. It takes a full year for the scar to mature and fade.
